At The Cricket Inn, our ethos is fresh, honest cooking. We want to utilise the best ingredients we can find and simply highlight the quality and taste of seasonal produce to bring hearty, warming, yet innovative cooking to Sheffield. 

We cook using a Bertha oven - a robust and versatile indoor charcoal BBQ oven, made in Britain. It reaches temperatures of up to 500˚C and allows us to offer a really unique flavour, texture and smell to our produce and dishes. Not only is our meat and fish cooked with the Bertha, we also use it to roast and chargrill our vegetables and bake our bread. The versatility and depth of flavour achieved by the oven is why we chose it. 

We aim to provide a social environment where people feel welcome to come and drink, eat and socialise, be it for an hour or for the evening.

From the bertha

At The Cricket Inn, the chefs use a wood burning oven called the 'Bertha' which is made out of Sheffield steel and uses as mix of charcoal and wood to provide a unique and delicious flavour.
