It’s official: Snowmageddon has it the streets of Sheffield!
The fields are white, the air is chilly and the paths leading up Penny Lane are like a scene from Narnia. As the snow glistens, we open our doors and welcome you into our humble abode. From the crackle of the open fires, to the smell of freshly ground coffee, to the heat that comes from within our Bertha Oven (temperatures up to 500’C!) there is no better place to shelter from the storm than The Cricket Inn.
Surrounded by idyllic walks and countryside views, where better to gather with loved ones as we sit and wait for the ‘beast from the east’ to surpass our beautiful ‘Steel City’ and bring those warm summer nights we all dream about.
Our extensive menu ensures we have all appetites covered in this cold yet magical weather. Fancy choosing something from our delicious sandwich menu to enjoy with a bowl of our fresh & slightly salted skinny fries but can’t decide which you fancy? Why not join us with a friend & order a selection to share. When it doubt, half and half can be the perfect solution! The Cricket Club comes highly recommended by our locals, alongside the incredible Welsh Rarebit melt.. Feeling the drop in temperature? Warm up your tummies and add a mug of soup to your sandwich for just £2.
Fancy something a little heavier? Our Daily Set Menu, available with 2 courses at £16 or 3 courses for £20, allows you to indulge in your favourite pub classics, and Cricket Inn twists for that perfect Snow Day treat.
Along with the blizzards comes the closing of the schools. Those unexpected days where your plans of working hard in the office suddenly change as the gates close for the safety of the little ones, and you are left debating on what to do to keep them entertained! Snow Days are what children’s dreams are made of. Being able to skip out from the classroom and spend their days building snowmen, making snow angels and the odd snowball fight. But with all that built up energy and excitement, keeping them cooped up inside isn’t always the ideal scenario! With our large outdoor space partnered with our under 8 kid’s eat free* policy, we combine the perfect and safe space for them to have fun in the snow, while having some healthy, homemade grub!
